Apple Configurator to update IOS, store file locally

Hi

I've got a project to rollout 300 iPhone 5, these require the latest IOS.

Using Apple Configurator I plug in 4 phones then click prepare, so gets the latest update.

Can this process be speeded up by storing the IOS file locally and click other?

I have downloaded the 6.1 file, but this didn't work, said couldn't find the file.

Any help would be appreaciated.

Cheers

I'm having the same problem. iPad 2, trying to use configurator to install iOS 6.1. I've tried many times this afternoon, and the only thing I can figure out is that 6.1 has a bug and isn't compatible with configurator. When I use the old file I have previously used (iOS 6.0.1) it installs fine. It's only when I try to use 6.1.

Where is the .ipsw file saved? I can't locate it on the drive by searching...

It's a good thing I have that older 6.0.1.... The 6.1 update doesn't work on any of my iPad 2's via configurator. It just bricks them and I have to connect to iTunes in order to kick them out of recovery. Even trying to update via iTunes, it just says "The iPad "iPad" count not be restored. The device isn't elligible for the requested build."

Buggy 6.1......
