Since I created an iCloud email account, nothing on my ipad2 syncs with iCloud on my PC and all of my prior information has disappeared from my gmail, notes, calendar, etc. Any ideas?

Why is it that since I created an iCloud email account (my default email client is gmail), nothing on my iPad2 syncs with iCloud on my PC? Also, all prior content in Notes, Contacts, Mail, Calendar, etc. has disappeared.

I'm sorry to say that didn't work. I realize I didn't state the problem accurately. When I sign into iCloud on my PC, my Notes, Calendar and Mail are empty. Also, when I use Notes on my iPad, it doesn't automatically appear in my gmail like it used to. I was prompted in Settings to set up a me@icloud.com address to resolve that issue, but it didn't and has apparently created other problems I mentioned.

P.S. I just noticed that Evernote isn't synching automatically between my iPad and PC anymore. I have to do it manually. Would this have anything to do with the me@icloud.com address?

Your phone/mac/pad/pc etc must all be signed into the same iCloud account, check all settings, do not use On My Mac or On My Phone accounts as they go nowhere but where the label says.

Post a screenshot of your iCloud settings (System Preferences>iCloud) and your Mail settings. (Which mail client are you using, Outlook?)

Gmail has nothing to do with iCloud, they are separate.

Okay, I see from the control panel for iCloud in Explorer that now I have to use Outlook as my mail client for Calendar, Mail and Notes. Why? Gmail is my client and everything used to work fine until I had to get that @icloud.com account.

Also, I see I have to use Explorer as my browser if I want to sync Bookmarks. What's wrong with Firefox?

Outlook is the only supported Mail/Contacts and Calendars client on a PC.

And once more, Gmail has no connection with iCloud, you can continu using Gmail on the web or in Mail

Why not say what you expect to happen and I'll tell you if it will.
