itouch 3rd gen won't start/charge

I went to charge my itouch yesterday and it flashed a yellow triangle warning (which disappeared before I could read the message) and now it won't charge or turn on. I have tried holding the home button for 10-20 seconds, I have done the same with just the power button and also holding both home and power button. I tried plugging it in (with the original power cord and with a newer apple cord) to my computer and also to the wall with the apple wall adapter and an after market adaptor. The device doesn't register on my computer so I can't reset it through itunes. Help! I'm at a loss :-(

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I thin you got a high temperature warning

iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch (4th generation): Keeping device within acceptable operating temperatures
