Bootcamp 5.0.0 on Windows XP Home
Does Mountain Lion's bootcamp (ver 5.0.0) support Windows XP Home? If not, can I run Windows XP Home after installing VMware Fusion 5?

No. Boot Camp requires Windows 7, and I believe the 64 bit version at that.
VMware Fusion does support Windows XP. It's possible Windows XP home could be a problem because I think Microsoft limits the licensing of XP Home and may prohibit use in a virtual machine. I can't answer Microsoft Licensing questions 😉
