problem with uploading podcast to itunes store (different than the other question)

I keep trying to get my podcast submitted in using the method described here and getting the message "Couldn't locate hostname in your feed: webproxy-nk-11-ext"

My host is hipcast and it is obviously in my feed (hipcast.com)

I sent the following email into Apple iTunes Store Customer Support:

Details:

I am trying to submit a podcast in the iTunes Store (Podcasts -> Submit a Podcast)

My xml file validates at feedvalidator.org

I can manually add my podcast to iTunes and all of the episodes load

on 2/6/13 and 2/7/13 when I clicked on submit (iTunes -> iTunes Store ->Podcasts -> Submit a Podcast) I got the following error:

"Couldn't locate hostname in your feed: webproxy-nk-11-ext"

This morning the feed gets submitted but within a minute or less I get the following email:

Dear podcast owner,

An error was encountered while trying to add your feed, [ http://hawkselectronics.com/podcasts/eh/ehap.xml ].

Please correct the error and submit your feed again. For additional information, please consult the podcast FAQ athttp://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/faq.html and technical specification at http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/techspecs.html.

Sincerely,

The iTunes Store Team

I do not believe there is an error in the feed, but that there is an ongoing issue at Apple. (I am a former Apple Sales Rep and a 25+year Apple consultant, also an iOS developer). There is a Discussion at Apple Support Communities regarding this issue. It started on 2/6/2013 around 5 pm. Here is a link to the thread, it has had over 1,000 views already, so this is a wide spread issue!

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4783672?start=0&tstart=0

Please help, I have clients asking why their podcasts have not been submitted yet.

Thanks

I think we should all take the time to call the technical report number given to craigmoliver:

Apple Technical Support number:

1-800-275-2273

as well as submit to Apple Support by going to Apple.com, click on Support, click on iTunes, click on Contact Support (bottom left), click on Contact iTunes Store support, click on Other iTunes Store Topics, click on Questions about iTunes content (such as videos, music or podcasts), click on Continue, click on Email and fill out the form and click on Continue.

Not as painstaking as it sounds, I timed it after I wrote the instructions, just took 30 Seconds to get to the form.

Just got an email from an Apple Senior Advisor, I sent him the screenshots he asked for, the orignal problem is gone for me, but I am getting the error emails now.

Hello Mark,

My name is Michael and I'm a Senior Advisor with the iTunes Store and this request was escalated to me on your behalf. It is my understanding that you and several others are having issues with your Podcast not being submitted due to error "Couldn't locate hostname in your feed: webproxy-nk-11-ext" but your feed validates through "feedvalidator.org". Please know, I can appreciate your concerns to have this rectified and I'm happy to assist you today.

Mark, I would be more than willing to investigate this matter for you, as well as the others facing the same issue in the Apple discussion board you provided. In order for me to get this investigation started for you I will need you to provide me with the following images:

-Screenshot of your feed being validated through "feedvalidator.org" or any other Feed Validator.

- Screenshot of your Podcast being accepted when manually submitting.

- Screenshot of your computer's screen when you receive "Couldn't locate hostname in your feed: webproxy-nk-11-ext", as well as a copy of the email you received shortly after submitting your podcast, if you still have this email.

Thank you for your patience in this matter, as I can see this has been going on for quite a few days now and I look forward to your reply.

Have a great rest of the day, Mark.

Sincerely,

Michael

Same here.

People. please don't post an "IT WORKS" entry until you wait a few minutes to make sure you don't get the same "An error was encountered while trying to add your feed" email that I've gotten twice now almost immediately after the submit works.

Even that isn't proof until some gets their podcast accepted, which may take 2-3 days or even longer given that there will be a big backlog building up.
