32-bit or 64?

The processor in my MacBookPro is an Intel Core 2 Duo. The "How to tell if your Intel-based Mac has a 32-bit or 64-bit processor" page says it is 64-bit, but the System Profiler / System Software Overview / 64-bit Kernel and Extensions says "No". So can I run a program that requires 64-bits or not?

The one has nothing to do with the other. The latter means you are not running the 64-bit kernel. It does not mean you can't run 64-bit applications.

It also means you cannot install Mountain Lion.
