Sync takes forever (especially videos)

I'm having an issue where syncing my iPod takes an incredibly long time. This seems mostly due to iTunes syncing my videos to my iPod literally every time even though I hardly add any new videos to my iPod (at least not within in the last six months). I see no reason why iTunes should feel the need to sync my videos to my iPod if they're already on there. Has anyone else had this problem? Any known solutions out there? Thanks!

Specs: Windows 7 (on a Toshiba, but I doubt that makes a difference) and 160gb iPod Classic; everything (iTunes/iPod) has been updated recently)
