iOS Software Update for iPod touch (2nd generation)

I am not able to use previous apps on my iPod touch 2nd generation or even install new apps cause of this issue. I find it very messed up that Apple is inputting these restrictions, because they want people to buy the latest versions of their gadgets. Not everyone finds it necessary to buy every new version of every technology or even have the money to do so. It is just really disappointing... 😐
