Cloud with lightning bolt

Hi,

Recently during music downloads, part way through the download process, the main music cloud symbol changes from normal to one with a lightning bolt.

Does anyone know the likely cause of the break in connection?

It has only started happening recently and is intermitant. It has only happened on my new Imac which I have had for a month. All setting from previous computer were taken using migration assistant.

A strange effect is that the download process continues but tracks downloaded after lightning bolt appear as Protected AAC files. I correct this by deleting them and redownloading.

Any suggestions?

I've seen this happen kind of often myself, Jim. As far as I can determine it happens if the Internet connection drops out (which happens to me often)' or the connection to the iTM service is interrupted for some reason. I've found that, usually, quitting iTunes and re-launching it will usually re-establish the connection to the iTM service.
