Media/File/Time Machine Server

I just replaced my Early 2008 iMac with the latest and greatest so I'm wondering what to do with the old one. I'm considering upgrading the internal HD and installing OSX Server onto it.

It's a while since I've used OSX Server so I'd love to hear opinions about it as it seems to get slammed on the App Store. I would like to perform Time Machine backups and serve media to the AppleTV, iPads and iPhones in the house.

I'm also curious if OSX Server can stream media over the web like a dedicated NAS.
