They can only access your iMessages if they have your Apple ID and password.

You can't. However, you can change the password which will stop them.
Why do you feel that someone is using your apple id to see your message?
I have someone's contacts and pictures showing up on my device. They recently tried to change my password I deleted their email from my phone but how are they accessing it to begin with?
If someone has my apple ID can they access my text messages both regular and iMessages?
