I did the most recent OS update ("firmware" update? I'm not great with the terminology - one of the updates that causes the fan to run at full-output & requires 25% battery and recommends being plugged in) last night & this morning, my external drive (1TB iOmega) will not mount. Relevant info:
the drive mounts on another computer (my gf has the next generation MBA, but same OS, minus the most recent upgrade)
disk utility sees it, but no mount point & cannot mount through disk utility
2 x SMC reset did nothing
1xPRAM (or VRAM, whatever it is on an Air) + 1xSMC also did nothing
loathing myself for not backing up the backup also does not seem to be helping.
This external drive contains my work files, so my day is at a standstill until I can find a solution - if anyone has a minute to suggest some possible trouble shooting ideas, I would greatly appreciate it!
MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.6.7), Mem: 2GB 1067 MHz DDR3 (sigh)
