MacBook Pro, Reinstalled software, some apps are missing.

I recently had to completely wipe and reinstall my mac book pro. I did this at a place called PeachMac (an apple specialty company) here in Alabama.

It is running great now, but, i don't have iPhoto, Garage Band, etc. that originally came on my Mac.

Is there a way to reinstall those for free? Or will I have to buy each program?

Thanks for your feedback.

You are going to have to get them if you want to custom install the missing apps. If that is not possible, you will either have to order replacements from Apple or purchase all those missing apps. And this time keep them, as the system dvds are also troubleshooting dvds.

Replacement System Discs can be obtained from Apple's Customer Support - US (800) 767-2775 for a nominal fee. You'll need to have the model and serial number of your Mac available.

If you're not in the US, you may need to go through the regional Apple Store that serves your location to find the contact number - http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/intlstoreroutingpage.html

should be pretty simple to do.....open the Mac App Store and click on the Purchases button. Any software that you've previously brought on your Apple ID or that came bundled with your MBP will show in there. Just click the Install button next to them and there you go! 😉

*edit* Meant to say, this won't cost either as it's already on the Purchases page.

Is the OS X installed the same as the one which came with your machine? Also, which MBP do you have (year)

I recently swapped my HDD for a blank formatted SSD and installed using internet recovery. OS X downloaded and installed without issues and then i signed into the App Store (you are signed in aren't you?) and from the in the Purchases page my iLife app were there.

Ok, I updated.

Still showing the same for FaceTime... and there aren't any of the iLife apps on the purchased lists... Maybe because it came on my computer?

That's correct, you did not purchase them from the App Store so you can't download them again from there.

Sorry, that's not correct....I know because I've done this.
