What I'd like to do:
- share my iphoto library (photos and videos) with my iOS devices
yes - iphoto can share pictures but no videos
no - don't want to keep syncing videos and images 128GB isn't enough.
Can anyone recommend a hardware (preferrably using my mac) or software solution.

thanks for the reference. I was aware of that one. But my understanding is that it uses it's on properiority software.
a few issues:
issue - you have to keep iphoto and their interface up to date so you end up managing 2 libraries rather than one. recreating albums and faces etc.
issue - you have to keep switch networks to gain access to your library or other network enable apps
ideally. if the software/hardware can use the iphoto library so you don't have to manage multiple libraries that would be desired.
