All of a sudden, I go to my list of favorite podcasts and choose one of them. The list from iTunes store only shows old episodes. None of my podcasts are showing today's episode.

Looks like a problem with Apple's servers... iTunes is not updating podcasts past the 5th either.
I Have the exact same problem. No podcast newer than Feb 5, 2013. I've emailed support twice. The first time I just got back a generic "How to subscribe to podcasts" link. I replied asking them to escalate as watching video podcasts is the only reason I bought an Apple TV in the first place.
Still waiting to hear from Apple...
It makes me feel a bit better to know that others are having the same problem - it's very frustrating.
It appears the problem has been fixed! 🙂
