Safari 5.1.7 links not working

Running Safari 5.1.7 on iMac with 10.6.8 installed. When clicking on links, even on Apples on website, nothing happens. I can sometimes do a cmd right click and open in new window or new tab. However, mostly links don't work.

I do not have any extensions enabled.

Any help?
