MIDI problems with several controllers

Hi,

I hope someone can help me out with the next issue.

I have had prblems with getting controllers up and running since the beginning i have my MBP 17" 2,2Ghz i7. When i got my Numark 4TRAK someone from Numark helped me using the tool MIDI Monitor; the system had to 'learn' the signals coming in from the USB port. This worked.

Now i recently bought a Native Instruments Maschine MK2, this one works as a charm with the Maschine application itself, but i cannot use it yet with Ableton Live 8. I have tried to let it 'learn' the MIDI signals from the USB port. This does not work.

Does anyone have a clue how to reset the MIDI or something so that al my MIDI controller devices work like they should?

I know from the old days you could reset the EPROM with some difficult key-combo or to let it rebuild the desktop file with another combo...
