Hi, i am using safari on the iPad. I have set block popups to off in the safari security settings. When I then try to access a popup screen I receive a message stating "this site is attempting to open a popup window". Is there a way to stop this message?

I'm sorry. I misunderstood what you wanted to do. And as far as I know - you cannot prevent the message from appearing. I turn block pop-ups off as well because I need to allow pop-ups for an email account that I have. The message pops up every time.

I assume that it is a built in security feature to just make sure that you realize what you are doing when you are ready to open a popup window - just a double check in the system.
