No sound for voicemail or phone calls after ios 6 update

I recently updated my iphone 4 with ios 6. I've experienced no sound at all while checking voicemail and when answering calls. However, the person on the other end can hear me. What can I do to fix this problem and if it's a bug, can it be fixed?? I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!
