FCP 7 will not start. I was digitising a bunch of footage and came back to continue the process and the application would not launch. I had deleted a large Premiere Pro project on the same drive. Immediately after, FCP 7 stopped working.

The day before I had backed up my entire drive via Time Machine. Not sure if that has an impact.

I have Mac OS X 10.6.7, 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 28 GB of Memory.

What I tried so far:

--- I tried trashing my preferences, but nothing happened.

--- I tried opening older project files from the autosave vault, but nothing worked.

I installed FCP 7 from an upgrade disk and no longer have the original hardware, so re-installing would be an issue.

Please advise on how I might proceed.
