i have an apple powerbook G4 and do not see the appletv icon so as able to stream to my TV. What do i need to do to get this function? Please help

AirPlay Mirroring requires OS X Mountain Lion > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404 As you have a PowerPC-based Mac, you can't upgrade to Mountain Lion and you can't stream your computer onto your Apple TV.
If you have an Intel-based Mac and Mac OS X 10.6.8 or newer, you can use AirParrot, but your Mac isn't compatible with Snow Leopard. Unfortunately, you need a new Mac to do this
