facetime wrong telephone number

please could anyone help me - how do i change my facetime telephone number as it's incorrect but not able to change in 'general settings.' Forgive me, I'm very new at this!!

You may need to go to https://appleid.apple.com/ to sort this. I'm not sure.

Is the number that is there an old number of yours?

It might be worth just signing out of FaceTime and then sign back in again.
