iPhoto photo order
I want to view all of the photos in my library (not within album) in descending order. How do I change it from the ascending order it's stuck on?
View menu -> Sort Photos...

That only sorts within the albums. When viewing the entire library together I want to see my most recent photos at the top of the page. The iphoto default is set opposite that. How do I switch it?
That's not the case here.
Have you got Event Titles selected in the View Menu?
Are you viewing in the Events or Photos view?

While in the Photos mode deselect Event Titles in the View menu:
Then set the Sort order to get what you want.
