Hi,

 

I use my Apple TV every day to watch different podcasts, but since a few days the podcasts in my Apple TV are not updating. I have restarted my iTunes on my computer and restarted my Apple TV, but that is not working. Any advice on what to do next?

    Can you access the iTunes store?  Are other network connections working?  Did you run the network connection tests?  Are you trying to play the podcasts directly from the source or from your local iTunes instance?

    Hi Brian,

     

    Yes, I can access the iTunes store without problems, and all other network connections are working. I can navigate all my other Apple TV features without problem. I play the podcasts directly from my Apple TV.

    I also am experiencing this problem. Several of the podcasts I watch have not been updated on Apple TV although they have been updated in iTunes so I have needed to download the iTunes version yo see them. For example, as of now, Friday, 5:26 Pacific Time, February 8, 2013, the last PBS NewsHour listings are from Feb 5, 2013. I have noticed this happens occationally and then everything returns to normal in a day or two later- If AppleTV fails to synch with iTunes during the weekend it never gets corrected before Monday however...I suspect there is a human in the loop of updating podcasts to AppleTV who doesn't get around to doing it.

    I am having this problem too. No updates since Feb 5th. I have two Apple TVs in different houses, and both are doing the same thing. It's infuriating. I can't watch my favourite podcasts. I can't believe it isn't happening to more people!

    I've been having the same issue, and I believe it's related to the recent ATV update.  If I remember correctly, this happened the last update cycle as well.  As of today, February 9, several of the podcasts I have listed as favorites are no longer being updated (although a few are for some reason - such as TED Talks).  Other ATV applications seem to be working.  I agree that this is a frustrating and annoying situation.

    I also notice that some of my favorites are updated in the iTunes Store (NBC Nightly News, for instance), but others are not.  But why won't this translate over to ATV?  I don't understand - is this a human interface issue or a server issue?

    I'm having this same problem. Tried rebooting the AppleTV but no luck. Frustrating.

    same here.since the 5th.nothing has been updated at all-i went searching for anything past the 5th.not a single thing updated.ditto with my ipad

    Yes, I am having the same problem with my 2 ATVs after the update, but there is another strange occurance that I think may be related... I gave my father an ATV as a present recently and told him to just use my ID to access podcasts as he didn't have an apple account.

     

    I seems that my updated ATV caused problems with my fathers because he was using the same account... Also, for me even when I check the podcast through iTunes in only lists up to February 5... Seems it may be an iTunes account & sync related issue...

     

    I hope this is resolved very soon...

    IT looks like this morning they are updating. I went into podcasts and there are red badges on all my favorites.

    Podcast on my appletv's were not updating since Thursday. Correctly updating on my mac and ipad, but not on apple tv. But as of this morning, all appears to be good again. It does seem to have been tied to the recent atv update.

    And honestly a pretty lame issue especially with no communication from apple.
