The Sims

Dear Community.
I own a last 2007, early 2008, Macbook.
I've recently been trying to get the original Sims working, however I've hit a roadblock and require some assistance.

When opening the game it runs the opening credits and the beginning cinematics.

Once you skip, or wait through these, the game closes and a box states the following:

"DrawSprocket cannot switch to the requested resolution [800x600, 16bit, 1 buffer(s)]

(Make sure your computermeets the display requirements specified in the Read Me file)."

So instinctively I changed the resolution and tried again to no avail.

I've looked on the internet and there is no answer so I come to here to find out if any of you have an answer.

I have updated the game to 1.25 Carbon, a fix that is meant to work but apparently doesn't.

Here are my specs:

Mac OS X - 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

2GB RAM

Version 10.5.8 - Lion

If you could help or offer suggestions I'd appreciate it.

Kind regards,

FarScrub
