how to lock up my imac from anybody else staring it up
How do I put a password on my iMac to prevent anybody else starting it up?
imac 24-inch, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

They can still hit the on button but that is it. They can't boot it single user, off a usb, ......
Are you asking about an admin User Password that you have to enter when the system boot to OS X? You already have one but you have selected to not use it. That is an option in Users and Groups in system Preferences.
