Feb 8, 2013 11:54 PM in response to Scottyclutchisonby stocherkahn,Have the same problem! I can not connect to movies ans music. Streaming form iPad and Youtube works fine. I think its a problem with the connection to the iTunes store. The support team had no usable awnsers so far :(. The problem occurred after the latests update :(

Feb 9, 2013 8:47 AM in response to Scottyclutchisonby dekker_019,This is software issue with the new update. Good news is that not all devices are affected so if you were to do a restore it should solve the problem.
Settings > General > Reset > Restore

I've also tried rebooting, and unplugging the router. Nothing works. The apple TV just keeps flashing off and on, going back to the main screen.

Feb 10, 2013 3:19 PM in response to Scottyclutchisonby joewillypsu,I am having a similar problem. I downloaded the latest software on Apple TV last night and now I am having issues as well. On the main screen, where it has all the icons like Settings, Computers, Music, TV Shows and Movies and all the other icons below I keep getting a message "syncing Purchased Music" when I highlight the music tab (orange colored). And when I go to the Movies tab, it shows top movies and nothing else. I cannot search, use genres, purchased, genius, NOTHING. It only gives a second or two to even see the headings in the movie section and it defaults back to the screen of top movies.It looks like the same applies when I click on the TV Shows tab as well. It goes to a search screen with the little wheel spinning around and then defaults to the main screen again. Have you found anything out yet. I thought about calling Apple but mine is out of warranty and don't feel like paying for something that I didn't screw up. It looks like their update caused this

Feb 10, 2013 3:21 PM in response to Scottyclutchisonby joewillypsu,Oh, another thing, when I highlight the Music tab, I get the "Accessing iTunes Store" with the little spinning wheel thing for a minute and then I get a message "Unable to Sign In" - Apple TV can't connect to the server at this time. Please try later.

I've emailed Apple, and am waiting for a response. I will post if I hear anything and find a way to actually fix this.

Went to General > iTunes Store>
Then I signed out of my iTunes account, and then retyped my user name and manually typed in the ".com" instead of using the .com "button", and VOILA! Suddenly it works.
