Headphones for I5

My I5 phone headphones go in and out. When I plug thme in sometimes the music comes through the headphone and sometimes just through the phone. I have to constantly turn the jack or try reconnecting. Also, I have to keep the phone still and I can't move around or the music quits coming through the ear piece and instead comes through the phone for all to hear. Is it a short in the headphone?
