Q: iPhone SMS/iMessage search doesn't take me to specific message

As of April 30, 2015 this still doesnt work for me.  What a huge fail for a billion dollar company paying software developers to test and get things right. How sad.

June 4, 2015 --- this bug is still happening. Doesnt matter how many or how many times Apple is notified. They dont care.

Reading through this thread from 2013. I feel this huge giant doesn't care about users at all. It's not THE Apple anymore.

still as of 9/15/15 this feature doesn't work.. I keep text messages between a few people forever and would like to search through them to get to a specific date without waiting and tapping to load previous messages.... in my opinion the search feature is just a tease and should work or be deleted as a feature...

I created an account just to reply on this thread. Come on apple, please fix this. It is totally unhelpful behavior and would have to be pretty simple to fix and help with a much better user experience.

Actually it looks like this bug was finally fixed. I've tried on my iPhone 5C with iOS 9.0.2 and I can get a specific message even if it's back in years!

Not sure if everyone has the same experience though.

It is almost 2016. If anything the problem has gotten worse. My husband updated to 9.2, and he searches for the same words I do, using our text conversations as a way to check, and comes up with nothing. My non-updated version still finds the words but then still takes you to the end of the entire conversation. It's an incredibly useless feature, but should be a super simple fix. Google yields better results with their search function, that's with searching PDFs even...

Can be done in iMessage on the Mac

You can simply use

• ⌘ + G in order to jump to the next occurrence

and

• ⌘ + Shift + G in order to jump to the previous one.
