I want to a get 128gb ipad and get rid of my Mackbook Air

But first I want to make sure it is possible. Is there a way to clone my HD on the Macbook Air and send it to the iPad? Once all the information is on the iPad can I set it up to backup on my time capsule? The informatiion is all for work and I need a copy of it. Third I get sent tons of outlook mail messages and excel files will they work on the ipad?

II am sales rep that drives over 40K a year and get tired of carring and updating two devices. Can I make this work? The ipad for me is my more convenient to work with when I am traveling on the road.
