This seems to be a problem with many Comcast owners. I had a older Comcast box that hooked up to the tv differently. Since we upgrade to Comcast Triple Play, they put in a new box and the only way to hook it to my TV is through HDMI, which like others posting here, I only have one of on my TV. So far none of the responses have been very helpful with that. Can you get a splitter for HDMI that has 2 inputs (one for the cable box and one for the Apple TV), and one output to the TV. That seems like it would be the way to go, and unfortunately it will probably be another investment (which is a problem for many of us). Is there any other way??? Somebody must have come across this problem and found a solution since it's a common problem with the new Comcast cable boxes.

Technically what you need isn't a splitter, it is an HDMI switch box. If your TV has only one HDMI port, yes you will need that extra piece of hardware. However, check the back of the Comcast box. It very well may have an optional three cable or coaxial output that would connect to the TV (or may not - I'm not a Comcast customer, but I know my Dish boxes do).
