How do I export a file from Numbers into Quicken Essentials?

When I download data from AMEX it makes a download file. Until I installed numbers I could transfer this file to Quicken Essentials. Now the download file appears to be compatable with Numbers and creates a file there. The instructions to download from AMEX are to make a Quicken-compatible file. How did Numbers intervene?

Amex produces a Quicken compatable .qfx file. OS X uses the extension to identify the application to open a file. When Numbers is installed, the system sets Numbers as the default application for files whose names end with the .qfx extension. The procedure described by Wayne is used to reassociate those files with Quicken, resetting Quicken as the default file to open these files.
