I'm traveling and using the Apple TV at the hotel but the remote app is not working cause I can't turn on home sharing from my p&c, cause its not here

Most hotels tend to require a login to the network via browser, which the ATV doesn't have. You won't be able to access the network for any functions if that's the case.
You may want to contact someone at the hotel to clarify.
Thanks but it's an open wifi at this place. Pretty much imagine if I were home and didn't own a computer,just had wifi and an apple tv, how would the remote app work? I can't turn on home sharing

You don't need a computer to turn on home-sharing, That is done via settings on ATV. Had you previously enabled home-sharing? If you haven't, you would need to use the bundled remote in order to set that up.
