Help my sons ipod touch is disabled and it says connect to itunes, nut when i do that itunes says need to enter password to unlock and i cant

Did you place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes as the article said?. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
