Why was the remote app for Apple TV ruined? My remote is lost and I go to use the remote app like I have been and it no longer works? It only plays music and movies through my Apple TV. To say I am disappointed is an understatement.

I updated the remote app. Since I lost my remote for my apple tv I was using the app and it worked perfectly. Since the upgrade I had to reconnect to the Apple TV, but guess what, you cant. The upgraded app, lost the password associtivity and further there is no way to bring up a keyboard or the actual remote, or connect to the apple tv, my only options are iTunes. Also if you go on the reviews of Apple TV on the app store, it is running 1 star on a 5-1 ratio. There too you will see people complaining of no keyboard.
I am glad it works for you, if you have not updated then dont, you will be sorry. I am, my Apple TV has now become a PITA to use. Im just glad I have only bought like 3 movies lately with the ATV.
My remote app is up to date and is working fine, I do notice others have issues but not everyone. May want to provide feedback directly
I downloaded the remote app for my wife's iPad mini and it can't seem to control or see our AppleTV gen 2.
Any assistance much appreciated.
Have you enabled home sharing on ATV? Are both on the same network?
