A new iPod - serious problem with battery

Yesterday I bought a new iPod nano 4g. I loaded it the whole night and after loading, the battery lasts only 10 minutes. What is the problem?

2 possibilities: your charger is broken or your iPod battery is close to death and not as new as you think.

How to find out what is the problem? Charge it to a mac or pc for some time and see if there's a difference, or charge any other device you have with the same charger to see if you have a similar problem. I would recommend the first option, since broken chargers can ruin the things you try to charge with it.
