Can i get my ipad 1st generation unlocked? If so, how?

I have an ipad 1st generation which is locked to the orange network. It's 3G aswel as wireless but as orange ( Which is now EE ) doesn't do pay as you go ipad data, only contract, im wondering if i can get my ipad unlocked? If so, how? Also, if the ipad is unlocked and i get a pay as you go data sim, will the sim work in another country? If anyone can help, that would be great. Thank you
