Hi all.
Yesterday I uploaded several hundred photos to my new, out-of-the-box iMac and all seemed fine; I was able to edit and view them. I then downloaded the settings from my old Mac via the backup external hard drive. This has restored all of my old photos but the new ones are nowhere to be seen, despite my best efforts to locate them. Any help gratefully received.

What does this actually mean:

You restored from back up. Did you overwrite the new iPhoto Library with the new Photos? How many iPhoto Libraries are in your Pictures Folder?
What I mean is that I used Migration Assistant to import all of my old settings and files from backup. I had thought that the new photos would be incorporated with the old. There is one iPhoto library in my Pictures folder.
Then you overwrote the newer iPhoto Library with the old, I'm afraid.
