why does my number spreadsheet not update to my other devices?

I bought the Numbers App when I purchased my MacBook Pro because I occasionally use spreadsheets at work and home. I started a new spreadsheet to keep track of my blood sugar every day. I also purchased the app for my iPHONE 5. Well the spreadsheet does show up on my phone but it is not showing the update I do every morning when I record my sugar levels. Just wondering what I need to do to get it to udate to my phone or MacBook Pro.
