Final Cut crashes on launch since installing Mountain Lion

I have installed OS X 10.8.2 Mountain Lion on my Macbook Pro, and now whenever I try to open Final Cut Express (Version 4.0.1), my computer crashes. I have trashed preferences... any suggestions?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Unfortunately, FCE isn't supported by Apple's latest OS versions. Those who have tried report mixed results at best.

If you need to be on Mountain Lion, consider partitioning your systems drive, installing Snow Leopard and running FCE off that partition.
