I have several email accounts, work and personal. I want to use my gmail as the priority default account, but the software sets up a work account that I only use for work.

If you mean primary when you send a new E-mail, I had the same problem. I cannot recall the details, but by deleting accounts from my Mail application and then adding them back, I finally got the program to send mail from my "primary" account as the default.

Hi David,
By chance I found the solution: Open the inbox folder (containing all your inboxes) and drag the inboxes in your preferred order.
It's very confusing - I expected this functionality in the preferences dialog.

Well done sir, this worked for me. Apart from prioritising the Inbox mail folders it also sets the top mail folder as the default mail account when creating a new mail message. Thank You.
