Type 2 error code

I am using an Imac and while I am connected to the internet I am suddenly disconnected and a message box appears that reads " You have been disconnected because of an error of type 2 has occurred". Does anyone know what this means and how to fix it?

Imac Mac OS 9.2.x

Are you using an Intel iMac, or one running OS 9 like in your profile? If it is the OS 9 Mac, you might want to post in the correct forum. I do not know which iMac you have, so I can't point you to those forums.

That said, Apple has a KB article on that error HERE.
