Change old backup destination

As I understand, Time Machine backup is cumulative.

My iMac has a 1Tb disk and two extra 1Tb attached, one USB, one Firewire.

I want to setup TM to backup to the USB disk in a way I have exactly the same content in both disks, internal and external (bootable from USB?) and set old flie versions stored in the Firewire disk, not on the same USB disk.

Is that possible?

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

It is not at all clear to me what you want to do.

If you want an identical copy of your working hard drive, then you need to clone it using a program such as Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper, then set that program to make incremental updates (but I don't know enough about them to say how to do that).

That drive would be bootable in case of failure of your internal drive.

Time Machine is not bootable, but can be used to restore a brand new drive to what was backed up.
