I need to delete pictures off of my iphone to free up storage space. If my photostream pics are automatically downloaded to my iphoto and aperture on my macbook, can I delete them from my phone's camera roll without loosing them on my computer?
Have you confirmed that the photos have been imported into your libraries? In iPhoto if the Photo Stream preferences are set like this:
your Photo Streame photos have been imported and will be in an Event.
If that's the case you can delete the photos from the Camera Roll on the phone and they'll be save in the library.

Trying to delete photos from my Iphone 5 from my photo library as I would like to free up the space. The same pictures are on my Mac but I am not using Photo Stream as described above. Is there another procedure I can use? Thanks
If the same photos are in your iPhoto library on your Mac you can delete them from your iPhone without affecting those in the library.
Thank you but I don't see anyway that I can do that. When I hit edit under my photo library, the only options I get is SHARE or ADD TO. There is no option that I see for DELETE. Thanks and I really appreciate you answering my question.

I don't have iPhoto for iOS so can't help with that. Someone who does will have to jump in and help.

You can only delete pictures on your iPhone that have been syncrhonized using iTunes by changing the settings in iTunes to not sync that picture or album and then updating the iPhone. You can delete pictures from the iPhone if you took them with the camera of the iPhone, made a screen capture on the iPhone or saved an image from the web or email to the Camera Roll on the iPhone. But you can't delete individual pictures or albums on the iPhone that were synchronized from iTunes.
