Default country incorrect in Address Book

Whenever I add a new address to my list of contacts in my Address Book, the entry for 'country' defaults to 'Chad' which is a country in Africa. I am in The Netherlands however... Each time I have to change this manually.

Is there a way to get it to default to 'The Netherlands' instead ...? Why would it keep defaulting to Chad when I am no where near...?

Thanx, New Be

Thank you Barry for your quick response...

Indeed I have checked my setting on my Mac Pro: preferences>general>address format... It was set to 'Netherlands' as it should be.

I did reset it though and went back to my iPad. But no change... It still reads 'Chad' for some reason then I wish to add a new contact...

Would a change in preferences on my Mac Pro effect the settings on my iPad as well...?

I did go to the Apples Store in Amsterdam concerning this issue. They couldn't figure it out either and advised me to check the Apple Online Help Service/Community...

This issue was driving me crazy for a while but I solved it.

1st thing is to make sure that under Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > under "Contacts" make sure "my info" is set to a contact card with a Canadian (or your country) address.

Also, if its an iPad with cellular, insert a Canadian (or your country's) SIM card, and then immediately in the address book your default country will be that of the SIM card you insert.

Thanks LiamMcC, I had the same problem - nothing on any other post worked. I pulled my China SIM, but still defaulted to country=China. Put my Dad's Canada SIM and now the default country is Canada. Very happy.

But Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendar/My Info Doesn't do anything for the default country.
