Can I get my secondhand iPhone 4 reset to factory setting? It is on uk carrier 3 and I would like to use it on the Tmobile or Virgin carriers and give it to my daughter for her birthday on 16-02-

Resetting an iPhone to factory settigns isn't an issue, you can easily do that by connecting it to iTunes and hitting the "Restore" button. If the iPhone is currently locked to the UK carrier Three, you won't be able to use it with a SIM card from any other carrier without getting the UK carrier to authorize an unlock. I believe that the UK carriers all offer this to their customers but it might cost you a fee. If you are not a customer of Three, you might have more problems getting an unlock form them though.
