Why is my browser pulling the wrong time zone information?

For some reason all my browsers pull the wrong timezone (Safari, Chrome, Firefox). This is causing issues in gmail, ebay and other sites that rely on this information.

When run

javascript:alert(new%20Date())

It returns:

Mon Feb 11 2013 02:38:56 GMT+0000 (UTC)

My time and date preferences are set to 8:38pm in the Central Time Zone. For some reason my browsers think it is 6 hours ahead.

Any thoughts on what might be going on??

Thanks.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Safari, Firefox, Chrome
