Q: Question relating to erasing Time Capsule

I'm trying to erase my time capsule and the directions say to click the "erase" button.  Is that the same as the "delete" button?

iMac (27-inch Mid 2010), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), Time Capsule

Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility

Click on the Time Capsule icon

    Click Edit

Click the Disks tab at the top of the next window

    Click Erase Disk

The Quick Erase option will be fine if you plan to keep the Time Capsule yourself and should only take a minute or two to erase the drive.

If the Time Capsule is going to another person, you should use the more secure Zero Out option. Allow 4-6 hours, on average, for this procedure to complete.
