2007 iPod classic: restored it today, music is there but Podcasts won't sync. I have 17 2podcasts downloaded on my Mac but can't sync them. Have told my device to sync in the preferences, but no result. Help please!

Check the iPod/Podcast pane to make sure that Podcast are still set to Sync.
I did as you suggested, and also made sure my computer is authorized - but still it only syncs music and not Podcasts. Any other suggestion?
It has nothing to do with being authorised, that doesn't affect Podcasts. Plus, you already have them on your computer.
Did you have to change the settings for the Sync Podcasts? If you did, then you may need to perform another Sync to make sure the "change" has been implemented.
If not, then:
Podcasts won't sync.
