Cannot unlock iPad to start backup or enable Wi-Fi. Touchpad will do nothing??

Try a reset:
Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo.

Perform a Reset...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

The red slider won't even work. The touchpad simply will not do anthing!!
